Difference among CV, Resume and BioData

Difference among CV, Resume and BioData

People use the words RESUME, C.V., and BIO-DATA interchangeably for the
document highlighting skills, education, and experience that a candidate
submits when applying for a job. On the surface level, all the three
mean the same. However, there are intricate differences.

RESUME

Resume Is a French word meaning "summary", and true to the word
meaning, signifies a summary of one's employment, education, and other
skills, used in applying for a new position. A resume seldom exceeds one
side of an A4 sheet, and at the most two sides. They do not list out all
the education and qualifications, but only highlight specific skills
customized to target the job profile in question.
A resume is usually broken into bullets and written in the third person
to appear objective and formal. A good resume starts with a brief
Summary of Qualifications, followed by Areas of Strength or Industry
Expertise in keywords, followed by Professional Experience in reverse
chronological order. Focus is on the most recent experiences, and prior
experiences summarized. The content aims at providing the reader a
balance of responsibilities and accomplishments for each position. After
Work experience come Professional Affiliations, Computer Skills, and
Education

C.V CURRICULUM VITAE

C.V Is a Latin word meaning "course of life". Curriculum
Vitae (C.V.) is therefore a regular or particular course of study
pertaining to education and life. A C.V. is more detailed than a resume,
usually 2 to 3 pages, but can run even longer as per the requirement. A
C.V. generally lists out every skills, jobs, degrees, and professional
affiliations the applicant has acquired, usually in chronological order.
A C.V. displays general talent rather than specific skills for any
specific positions.

BIO-DATA

Bio Data the short form for Biographical Data, is the old-fashioned
terminology for Resume or C.V. The emphasis in a bio data is on personal
particulars like date of birth, religion, sex, race, nationality,
residence, martial status, and the like. Next comes a chronological
listing of education and experience. The things normally found in a
resume, that is specific skills for the job in question comes last, and
are seldom included. Bio-data also includes applications made in
specified formats as required by the company.

A resume is ideally suited when applying for middle and senior level
positions, where experience and specific skills rather than education is
important. A C.V., on the other hand is the preferred option for fresh
graduates, people looking for a career change, and those applying for
academic positions. The term bio-data is mostly used in India while
applying to government jobs, or when applying for research grants and
other situations where one has to submit descriptive essays.

Resumes present a summary of highlights and allow the prospective
employer to scan through the document visually or electronically, to see
if your skills match their available positions. A good resume can do
that very effectively, while a C.V. cannot. A bio-data could still
perform this role, especially if the format happens to be the one
recommended by the employer.

Personal information such as age, sex, religion and others, and hobbies
are never mentioned in a resume. Many people include such particulars in
the C.V. However, this is neither required nor considered in the US
market. A Bio-data, on the other hand always include such personal
particulars.

NaamYogi Shree Bramhachaitanya Maharaj spent his entire life in enchanting the Divine Name of Lord Raam and spreading the love of God’s Name amongst people.

In addition to this Shree Maharaj taught his followers two more ways to serve Lord :

First is by distributing food amongst the hungry people, called Ann-Daan and
Second is by worshiping Visible Image of God, called Sagun-Bhakti

Number of persons viz. educated, uneducated, poor, rich, wise-unwise etc. got fascinated by Shree Maharaj’s personality and his life. His life mesmerized all the persons and attracted them towards GOD. In reality, it is not possible to describe in few words, the divine and gigantic life sketch of the NaamYogi. But just to inform his followers, few important events in The Life of NaamYogi Shree Bramhachaitanya Maharaj are presented below :-

Yr. 1845 - Shree Maharaj was born in Gondavale, a small village near Taluka Dahivadi in District Sataraa of Maharashtra State (India). His original name was “Ganapati”. His grand father “Lingopantt” used to worship Lord Vitthal of Pandharpur. Ganapati’s father “Ravaji” was a great devotee; he used to enchant the sacred Name of Lord Vishnu. Ganapati’s mother Gitamai was very generous. She used to called Ganapati as Ganu

Yr. 1857 - During childhood, Ganapati used to enchant holy name of Lord RAAM, all the time in a day. He left house in search of Philosophical Guru (Satt-Guru) at the age of 12year. At that time He was married as per old Indian tradition.

Yr. 1861 - Ganapati had to wander entire country in search for Satt-Guru. He visited Shree Swami Samartha of Akkalkot, Shree Ramakrishna Param Hauns in Bengal and many more saints. After searching enter India for about four years, Ganu was asked by one another saint Shree Ramkrushna (from southern India) to go to Yehlegaon to Shree Tukaraam-Chaitany.

Yr. 1862 - Accordingly he came to Shree Tukaraam-Chaitanya (popularly called as Tukamai) his Philosophical Guru i.e. Satt-Guru.

Yr. 1862 - Shree Tukamai was born in a small village Yehlegaon located in eastern Maharashtra. He tested / examined Shree Maharaj for nine months and then showered his blessings on Shree Maharaj (i.e. ULTIMATE KNOWLEDGE). Shree Tukamai renamed Ganpati as BRAMHACHAITANYA and gave him Holy Name of Lord Raam i.e. SHREE RAAM JAY RAAM JAY JAY RAAM. Shree Tukamai thus initiated Shree Maharaj.

Yr. 1875 - After getting blessed by Tukamai, Shree Maharaj left Yehlegaon. Shree traveled in Himalayan region for about 12year and then returned back to home in Gondavale. After coming back to Gondavale Shree Maharaj started living normal life. He taught Yog to his wife. At the age of about 32 his first wife left this world. After this, Shree Maharajs mother Gitamai, started insisting about remarriage. Hence Shree Maharaj got remarried as per the old traditions, but with a bind girl. Latter she was called as Aaisaheb.

Yr. 1891 - Shree Maharaj brought awareness about Gods Holy name amongst poor middleclass people. He constructed many temples of Lord RAAM and Hanuman all over India. He taught poor middleclass people how to please GOD by three divine ways & how to enjoy life with pride & dignity. Shree Maharaj built a Temple of Lord Raam called as THORLE - RAAM MANDIR (see the image of this Temple ahead ) . . . .

Yr. 1896 - Entire country faced a sever drought in Yr1876 and Yr1896. During this critical period Shree Maharaj was a great shelter for poor villagers of Gondavale. Shree Maharaj took lots of pains to provide the villagers job, food and shelter. But while doing so he kept on emphasizing importance of GODS Holy NAME. By this time Shree Maharaj had routed his philosophy deeper into the hearts of a common men. A group of dedicated persons had started gathering around him. Many well-known personalities viz. Lokmanya Tilak, Vasuveo Balvant Phadke any many more used to come to Shree Maharaj to listen to him, to discuss with him and finally to obtain his Blessings.

in addition to GODs holy NAME, shree mahaaraj addressed -

(1) SAGUN-UPAASANAA (Sagun-Bhakti)

(2) ANN-DAAN (distributing food to poor people)

(3) GOSEVAA (serving cow and other poor animals)

Yr. 1913 - Shree Mahaaraj was literally like father of all the villagers of Gondavale. Till this time many persons all over the Maharashtra had started coming to Shree Maahraj.

Shree Maharaj never refused anybody. He accepted the person with his positive and negative points as well.

After establishing a good setup of RAAM NAAM and other good things at Gondavale Shree Mahaaraj took MAHASAMADHI on 22December of Yr1913.

Though Shree Maharaj has physically left this world, he is staying in Gondavale and the hearts of his followers in the form of Divine Name of Lord Raam.

कथा श्री कृष्ण - सुदामा

The Story of Krishna - Sudama

The story of Sudama is described in the Bhagwat Purana, an ancient scripture of the Hindus.

Sudama was a poor brahmin boy who became a close friend of Krishna in sage Sandipani's hermitage. Krishna learnt to chant from Sudama.

Once, Sandipani's wife asked Sudama and Krishna to get some wood from the forest. While they were collecting the wood, a storm came and they got lost. Sudama was scared. Krishna held his arms and assured his safety. When the storm was over, they found their way to the hermitage. Sudama was relieved. Sandipani blessed them with a long life and happiness.

After completing their studies, Sudama and Krishna went their own ways. Krishna became the king of Dwarka and married princess Rukmini, the goddess of prosperity. Sudama, on the other hand, married a simple brahmin girl and began to lead the life of a devotee, reading scriptures, praying, forsaking worldly pleasures. Everyone loved Sudama. His family was quite happy.

Then Sudma's wife gave birth to two children. Because of Sudama's austere life style, the family began to face difficult days, with little food to eat and no clothes to wear. Sudama's wife was extremely devoted to her husband but when her children began to suffer, she was concerned.

Finally on a cold night, when her children were without blanket, she approached Sudama and humbly said, "Aren't you and Krishna, the lord of Dwarika, friends? And, Krishna married to the goddess of prosperity, Rukmini?"

Sudama replied, "Yes."

Sudama's wife dreamed of seeing an improvement in her family's poor condition. She earnestly said, "Go my lord, I beseech you, for the sake of our dear children, meet Krishna."

The very prospect of meeting Krishna, his old friend, made Sudama happy. "I will go and see him, but I will not ask him for anything." Sudama's wife could hardly conceal her joy. She happily said, "Even a visit to Krishna will bless our family. Do not ask anything from him. I will be content my lord."

Just before his departure for Dwarka, Sudama came to his wife. Both had the same thought. "What will I give to Krishna when I see him after such a long time?"

Sudama's wife suddenly remembered, "My lord you used to tell me that Krishna immensely loved Powa, the flattened rice!" Sudama too remembered Krishna's great liking for Powa. Sudama's wife ran to her neighbor's house and they happily gave her the gift of Powa in a small bundle. Sudama then set out on his long journey to Dwarka.

When Sudama came to the palace, surprisingly enough, no one stopped him.

He looked through various rooms and finally located Krishna and Rukmini. When Krishna saw Sudama he ran to embrace him. Then Krishna sat down and washed Sudama's tired feet with warm water and put sandalwood paste on them.

After the royal meal, they all settled down to chat. Krishna and Sudama exchanged the happenings of their lives since they departed from Sandipani's hermitage. Suddenly Krishna noticed a small bundle on Sudama's waist. He remarked, "Ah! You have brought a present for me!"

Sudama hesitated, "How do I give a king, a poor man's Powa?" When Krishna noticed that Sudama was ashamed to give him the bundle, he remarked, "Sudama, the poorest gifts given to me with love is dearer to me than the richest of gifts given without love." Krishna was thoughtful, "He has not come to ask anything for himself. He came out of love for his wife and me." Then he quickly snatched off the bundle and opened it. There it was, his favorite Powa! He tossed some in his mouth with great satisfaction. Then they talked and talked, as old friends, to their heart's content. Sudama could not ask anything from Krishna.

Next morning Sudama bid Krishna and Rukmini farewell. The long road back home did not seem to be that hard as he thought of Krishna. When he reached home, he was amazed to see that a huge mansion was standing in place of his poor hut. His wife and children, wearing new clothes, came to receive him. He could hardly recognize them. Sudama felt the touch of the all-knowing Krishna who had rewarded Sudama for his gift of love.

Sudama continued to lead the life of a hermit while his family enjoyed the generous gifts of wealth from Krishna.
